OrientDig Headwear Spreadsheet Guide

Use OrientDig spreadsheets to research headwear including caps, beanies, and hats with QC notes on logo placement and construction quality.

Headwear Research Overview

Headwear is a popular category in OrientDig research, including baseball caps, fitted caps, beanies, bucket hats, and other styles. Headwear products are generally lower in cost than clothing items like jackets or shoes, making them popular additions to hauls. Headwear rows in spreadsheets typically include the style name, color options, logo or design description, and QC photo references. The relatively simple construction of headwear means that QC checks focus on a smaller set of details, but those details matter a lot for overall appearance.

Logo and Embroidery Quality

For caps and hats with logos, embroidery quality is the most important QC factor. The logo should be centered on the front panel. Embroidery should have even thread tension without loose or pulled threads. Letter spacing should be consistent. Multi-color embroidery should have clean color transitions. For printed designs, check that the print is centered, properly aligned, and free of cracking or peeling. The size of the logo or design should match what is shown in listing photos.

Cap Construction and Shape

Baseball cap construction includes several structural elements to check. The crown shape should be symmetrical and properly structured. The brim should be straight or curved as expected, without warping or unevenness. The sweatband inside should be cleanly sewn and comfortable. Snapback closures should function properly with clean snaps. Strapback closures should have even stitching and functional buckles. Fitted caps should match their labeled size. Panel seams should be straight with even spacing between panels.

Material and Color

Cap materials vary from cotton twill to synthetic performance fabrics. QC photos should show the fabric texture clearly. Color accuracy is particularly important for caps meant to match specific outfits or team colors. Beanie materials should show consistent knit patterns without dropped stitches. Fleece-lined beanies should have even lining without thin patches. Bucket hat brims should hold their shape without sagging or warping.

Sizing for Headwear

Most baseball caps are adjustable and fit a range of head sizes. Fitted caps require specific sizing and should match the labeled size. If QC photos include measurement shots, compare the measurements against your head size or a well-fitting cap you already own. Beanie sizing is generally flexible due to the stretchy nature of knit materials, but extremely small or large beanies may not fit comfortably.
